Stoning hammers run from 800 g to 2 kg. The weight is set by how much material you are removing: 800 g to 1 kg for finishing and edging, 1.5 to 2 kg for rough dressing.
Because the head is heavy, handle length and grade decide how long the tool lasts. Specify hickory for shock absorption and check the moisture content for export, or fibreglass where humidity is high.
